Do you love Halloween? Are you already thinking about your Halloween fancy dress? We are looking for volunteers for Fright Run, our Halloween running event. Volunteers are needed to help create the spooky atmosphere at Lyme’s Fright Run on Friday 30th October. Fancy dress is a must! There are two events, the first is a family event aimed at younger children starting at 2pm. Families will come in fancy dress to run/walk/jog the short route through some of Lyme’s spooky places. Along the route there will be Halloween decorations and spooky noises. Marshalls and volunteers will be in fancy dress to give the run a spookier atmosphere. The second event starts at 6pm, with the park in darkness we will up the spooky level for this night time run with creepy noises coming from the woodland and people lurking behind the walls and creepy shadows on the moor. This event is aimed at older families and adults. Again participants will be in fancy dress and will run/jog/walk the longer route around the park.Volunteers are needed to act as course marshalls for the event. Along with directing runners and ensuring runners safety our marshalls will be in fancy dress and adding to the spooky Halloween atmosphere. As well as marshals we will be recruiting some general volunteers to assist with other elements of the event including registration, set up and set down.If you’re wondering how you will get to Lyme-we are easily accessible by public transport, buses stop directly outside the park and the nearest train station is Disley which is 1/2 mile from the park entrance. We then have a minibus available to shuttle volunteers along the drive to the park, or if you’re feeling more energetic you can of course walk or cycle.
