A new Football opportunity has been added to Manchester VSB by Salford and Manchester Malaysian Sports Club, starts 02 March 2013

We need 12 volunteers with experience in either coaching, playing or officiating a football match. This event is called Perantau Cup where students all over the UK are coming to the Hough End Playing Fields, Manchester to compete for the 10th Sports Club Title on the 2nd of March 2013. The biannual tournament has been held for 10 years in a row now and nothing will be much more prestigious than the event itself!

No official qualifications needed, only experience and reliability are to be screened upon choosing the volunteers.

This is your chance to be a part of one of the biggest student football tournament. You can get to make new friendly friends on the day itself and also watch some quality and entertaining football. Those who successfully volunteered for us will be given a certificate of appreciation, free lunch (delicious Malaysian food) and a free Olympic design T-shirt special from the club as part of our thank you to those who volunteered.

A new BMX Racing opportunity has been added to Manchester VSB by British Cycling, starts 17 April 2013

The UCI BMX Supercross World Cup Manchester is the premier BMX racing series in the world. Featuring 5 events on 3 continents, the Supercross World Cup is coming to Manchester’s National Cycling Centre for the first time. The fastest, bravest riders in the world will take the gate in the race for world supremacy and a prime placing at the World Championships. Accelerating down the 8m high Supercross ramp around the professional indoor course, this is BMX racing at its most exhilarating and dangerous best.

As with all it’s major events British Cycling relies heavily on the hard work of volunteers who undertake a wide range of roles across different areas of the event. From accreditation assistants to anti-doping chaperones and event support coordinators there is a sure to be a role for you.

Greater Manchester Marathon 2013- Be a part of the Olympic Games legacy at the 2013 Greater Manchester Marathon

The Greater Manchester Marathon is back with a bang in 2013. The event takes place on Sunday April 28th with the Start and Finish Line Race Village based at MUFC’s Old Trafford stadium. The organisers are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist as Race Village Marshalls. As a Race Village Marshall you will be assisting with the essential role of guiding runners and spectators around the race village, and directing runners to the start line.
Uniform
All Race Village Marshalls will be provided with appropriate clothing.
Shifts
The day will be split into two 4.5 hour shifts. Volunteers can do one or both shifts, this will be decided when our volunteer co-ordinator contacts you.
