A new opportunity has been added to MCRVIP by Stroke Association , starts 29 January 2018

Join in this opportunity now.

Stroke is the third biggest cause of adult disability in Britain and the Stroke Association is the countries leading organisation to provide emotional and practical support to enable the stroke survivor to live Life After a Stroke.
Our Stroke Survivors asked to learn or re-learn swimming after their stroke so we are working with BUZZ Manchester Health and Wellbeing Service and Dementia Swimming at the local pools. This would be working in the Central Manchester area
We would like volunteers to help with driving the stroke survivors to and from their home to the pool and then helping as a swimming buddy in and out of the water.
This will be a fantastic opportunity to work with truly wonderful and inspiring people whom have gone through a stroke that will have affected them in a number of ways not only visible.
Please note that our office is in Salford but our service works with Stroke Survivors and Carers that live in North, South and Central Manchester.
This project is still in its planning stage with a view to hopefully starting in the new year. Dates and time to be confirmed.
