A new opportunity has been added to MCRVIP by Six Day Cycling, starts 22 March 2019

Join in this opportunity now.

Dear Volunteer,

It’s Six Day time!

The Six Day Series is heading to the home of British Cycling in March, bringing its unique mix of world class track cycling and partying to Manchester.

A city renowned for its sport and music, Manchester is the perfect destination for bringing together fans from both worlds. Expect to see plenty of action as the biggest names in cycling battle it out for the Manchester title, all set to a ‘buzzin’ soundtrack.

22 – 24 March are the dates for the inaugural Six Day Manchester and you have the chance to be involved in this fantastic event. For more information: https://sixday.com/manchester/

With the event fast approaching we are now beginning the volunteer recruitment process. We need volunteers to carry out a number of vital roles both in and outside the HSBC UK National Cycling Centre.
The primary volunteer roles will be focused on providing an exceptional spectator experience, with a smaller number of opportunities involved in Sport Operations, and some other ‘behind the scenes’ roles.

Volunteer shift times will vary depending on the particular role you fulfil, with morning, afternoon and evening shifts available. Please be aware that some of the later evening shifts do not finish till 23:00hrs, and depending on your specific role shift start and finish times may vary.

If you would like to be involved in Six Day Manchester 2019 please complete our quick and simple on-line application process by clicking on this link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/YNZBLYF

In return for your support and commitment to the event all volunteers will receive: · Six Day T-shirts to wear on your shifts and to keep as a memento
· Food and drink during your shifts, typically a packed meal during the evening
· Two free tickets for either Friday, Saturday or Sunday, which if you wish, can be gifted to friends or family to come along and enjoy the racing. (Please note: Tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis, as such we are unable to guarantee your first choice of event day.)

Once we’ve collated all the responses and checked availability we will be back in touch to confirm if you have been successful in your application. We look forward to seeing you at Six Day Manchester.

A new opportunity has been added to MCRVIP by Football Beyond Borders, starts 13 February 2019

Join in this opportunity now.

At FBB, we believe that football is a powerful tool for creating a better society and helping others. We work in schools across the North West and South East to enrich the lives of young people and support them in school.

We’re currently looking for volunteers who can help us with this mission.

Our schools programme features weekly visits to schools across the North West. We need trainee or qualified football coaches who can help us deliver high-quality football sessions.

We are in multiple schools at different times of the day across the North West, so will definitely have a session for you! We do expect a minimum commitment of a school term due to the nature of the relational work that we do and building strong bonds with young people.

By volunteering with us you’ll get:
Valuable work experience
An opportunity to put your football knowledge into practice
An understanding of FBB’s specialist coaching philosophy
Insights into how we use sport to support our participants in their wider lives To be a part of the thriving and ever-growing FBB family

We are looking for people who can commit for at least 2 hours per week (normally in the afternoon around 3-5, though not always). We also ask that you commit for at least one school term so that we can ensure consistency for the young people we work with.

If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch.

The start date is as soon as possible, with a training day in February. We look forward to hearing from you.

Note: This role requires volunteers to undertake a DBS which we will arrange (and pay for). Also, we will reimburse the travel expenses you incur as part of volunteering for us.
