As part of Manchester Giants home game we are recruiting to add to our dedicated team of volunteers. We offer a programme which allows volunteers to gain experience of working at a professional event and enables volunteers to gain experience in events. We have a variety of roles. We are recruiting for volunteers to work as meet-ers and greeters, sellers of merchandise and pitch side stewards.

We have 5 more games left at home this season and require volunteers to commit to all/most of the games. We will be keeping volunteers on for next season too. We require volunteers for the following dates: 1st Feb, 8th Feb, 22nd Feb, 8th march, 5th April from 5.30pm – 9.30pm

Mancunians RL is looking for a volunteer Team Manager for its open age rugby league team. This is an opportunity to get involved with a fast-growing grass-roots rugby league club. The purpose of the role is to implement and manage team management procedures to ensure a professional game day experience.

The role would suit somebody with an interest in rugby league, sports management or development and who has typically 3-5 hours per week to spare. The position is unpaid, but the club will endeavour to support the role-holders’ CPD requirements and identify suitable courses. There may be opportunities to work with college and university teams during the winter.

Typical responsibilities:
1. Work with the head coach to implement team management procedures
2. To hold a full and comprehensive list of all players and their contact details and comply with the Data Protection Act
3. Conduct regular communication regarding Training and Match days with all players
4. Arrange fixtures as required and communicate and correspond with opposing teams
5. Collect and monitor payment of subscriptions on match day
6. Arrange after match refreshments, pitch hire, referee, man of match awards etc for home games
7. Act in accordance with the rules of the league and RFL
8. Act in accordance with the club’s core documents and policies at all times, with particular reference to the aims and objectives of the club, as detailed in the club’s Constitution.

Knowledge and experience:
Some knowledge of rugby league or community team sports
IT literate in WORD, EXCEL and OUTLOOK.
Some administrative work experience is desirable.

Skills and behaviours:
Good written and spoken communication skills
Ability to work with others and as part of a team
Strong time management and organisational skills
An interest in sports development/management

Mancunians RL is looking for a volunteer Club Development Administrator to help the club to achieve its goals. This is an opportunity to get involved with a fast-growing grass-roots rugby league club that has ambitions to grow over the next few years.

The role would suit somebody with an interest in rugby league or sports development and who has typically 3-4 hours per week to spare.

As an Associate Club of Manchester City FC, Delamere Rangers JFC are looking to recruit new coaches to support existing volunteers for their Under 6 and Under 8 squads and are offering a free Level 1 course for all volunteers. Under 6 training is on Monday’s 6-7pm at Wright Robinson Sports Village, Abbey Hey Lane, M18 8RL, and Under 8’s will be at a time to suit successful candidates. There are a number of vacancies available.
The FA Level 1 course will be before January 2013 with exact dates, times and venue to be confirmed.

Assisting City in the Community Foundation with the pre match activation and entertainment in City square before the Fulham match.
Duties will include the set up, manning and packing away of a variety of skills zones for ALL fans (home and away) to enjoy. Activities include the inflatable goalkeeping, target practice and dribbling zone.
Volunteers are expected to manage and support cues, be enthusiastic, friendly and interactive with fans to create an enjoyable experience.
