The Paralympic Flame was brought to Manchester on Friday 24th August by Manchester Volunteer Sport Bureau’s Craig Abel and Paralympic 50m Freestyle Swimmer Simon Miller. It will be on display at The National Cycling Centre until 8pm Tuesday 28th August.
The training Camps are going well, the volunteers are loving the opportunities to work closely with these amazing athletes before they head off to London.
Don’t miss any of the Paralympics which start on Wednesday 29th August.
Volunteers are required at Platt Fields on 25 & 26 August to steward, work on the car parking – taking money off attenders and issuing tickets, banksmen and women to guide traffic in and out of the site where required and runners to deal with smaller issues and get items for stall holders.
Saturday – 9am – 3pm, 10am – 4pm, 1pm – 7pm
Sunday – 10am – 4pm, 1pm – 7pm
The event ends at 8pm on Saturday and at 8pm on Sunday(except all amplified music will cease at 6pm because of the local church so we expect people will begin to leave at this point.
