Manchester will be hosting the Chinese New Year 2015. This is one of the largest annual events in Manchester City Centre. Alongside the traditional Dragon parade there will be a fairground, fireworks, a Chinese food market, tiger pop-up bar and entertainment in Chinatown and Alber Square. Celebrations start in the city centre from the first day of The Year of the Ram – Thursday February 19 – and continue throughout the weekend. Sporting Equals actively promote greater involvement by all communities that are disengaged, especially the black and minority ethnic (BME) population, in sport and physical activity.Sporting Equals are setting up a fully interactive Sport Zone on Sunday 22nd February. Sporting Equals are going to members of the public the opportunity to have a go at different sports for fun and free of charge. The sports offered are football, boxing, table tennis and many more! Sporting Equals are looking for enthusiastic, confident, hardworking volunteers. Your role will be to help setting up the activity area, helping to attract event visitors to the Sport Zone, offering advice and information, collecting details of participants and helping with packing up. This will be a great opportunity for someone who has a passion for sport. It will also be a good chance to work with national governing bodies of sport such as The FA, ECB, LTA.
