We are a not-for profit organisation which currently delivers table tennis sessions at our club on a weekly basis from 6-10pm every Friday. We operate 6-8pm for juniors and 8-10pm for adults.

Ideally we are currently seeking a volunteer table tennis coach to assist us deliver our sessions, although if you are knowledgeable and a table tennis enthusiast we would love to hear from you. In order to improve the athlete and spectator experience, we have called for the help of volunteers otherwise known as Marathon Makers.
Marathon Makers will be helping guide and inform runners and spectators. All Marathon Makers will be located around and leading up to race village (Old Trafford E2 car park) or situated around the course at various Metrolink tram stops. There will be up to 70 marathon makers with each group of around 6-10 having their own Marathon Maker team leader. Marathon Makers can contact their team leaders if they are not able to help or if escalation is required. Marathon makers will be clearly visible and the first port of call for confused or troubled passers-by so it’s important to be as helpful and friendly as possible. Hours of Work
Sunday 10th April 2016: either- 1) 6:30am-11:30am 2) 11:00am-4:30pm Training
All Marathon Makers will be fully briefed by the Marathon Maker team leader on the morning on the marathon. All Marathon Makers will be given an event handbook which will contain key information for the event. Responsibilities
– Assist the public to the best of your ability.
– Guide spectators and participants to the desired location in the race village or course. – Update team leader with any incidents/accidents within your area.
– Assist in directing people outside the race village and provide as much information about the surrounding area as possible.
– Read and understand your manual so you can deliver exceptional customer service.
– Greet every spectator / competitor with a warm and friendly welcome and look to engage and make conversation. – Report and log any feedback and pass on to XME or your team leader. Communication and escalation
If a problem cannot be resolved, reporting to the team leader is the appropriate course of action.

Lyme’s Night Run is part of a series of National Trust Night Run events across a number of properties. Lyme’s event takes place on Saturday 23rd January 2016. Participants will have two routes to choose from, a family/beginner friendly 3k route and a more adventurous 7k route. The route will be illuminated with lanterns and glow sticks and participants will be required to bring torches/head torches to light their way. The event is a unique opportunity to experience Lyme at night and get fantastic views of Manchester and Cheshire light up below.

Roles
Marshalls-we require volunteers to act as marshals along both routes to direct runners and be a contact for any emergencies
Hub-we require some volunteers to assist in the hub area. This will include dealing with registrations, signing people in, baggage storage

For all roles please ensure you wear warm, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear. Bringing a torch and flask of hot drink would be a good idea for those who are marshaling.

Greater Manchester School Games Cross-Country (Primary Schools) is coming to Heaton Park on Saturday 19th March. This is a county wide primary school games event with over many aspiring athletes competing.

We strive to make this event as professional as possible and to ensure we deliver this we need your help!

Volunteers roles are:

Results collation – we require volunteers to assist with the results collation at the end of the race,

GreaterSport are looking for passionate, driven individuals who have a real interest in sport event management, to get involved in an exciting opportunity within the Greater Manchester School Games.

The Greater Manchester School Games is part of a national programme that aims to harness the power of the Olympics and Paralympics to motivate and inspire young people to participate and compete in high quality competition within and across schools.

The GM School Games will see over 5000 young aspiring athletes from across Greater Manchester come together to compete across the year in 72 competitions across 13 different sports.

We are looking for individuals who can be our eyes and ears on the day of the event. There are two role available on the day:

-Sports Specific Event Volunteer- based at one of our iconic sporting venues, providing event support to the various National Governing bodies that are there delivering competitions.

-Media Volunteer- Visiting our iconic sporting venues and competitions utilising a variety of media tools to capture the day’s event.
To be considered for these positions, you must

.Be available on the Tuesday 15th March 2016
.Attend an informal interview week commencing 1st March 2016 .Attend a pre event induction 9th March 2016
.Have an interest in event management/media
.Have some form of event experience (any levels) or media experience
.Agree to manage a competition venue, support the various NGB’s on the day of events & provide additional support to Leaders, schools & participants. Or
.Agree to produce article, case study, small report, pictures, tweets etc. that can be used to promote the event on our website.
