Tesco Great School Run

On Friday 15th June 2012, Eastlands will host the Tesco Great School Run Finale, Manchester, which will see up to 5,000 primary school children from Manchester schools complete a 2km run around the Etihad Stadium and Campus.

The event is the finale to the 6 week Tesco Great School Run Tour which will have seen over 1.2 million primary school children in the UK take part in the 8th year of the project.

There are opportunities for individuals to volunteer on this event as Marshals. Safety at Great Run events is paramount and therefore we are hoping to recruit a good number of responsible individuals to work in select roles, alongside our event crew, with varied levels of responsibility.

• ‘Meet & Greet’ School Chaperones – 0830hrs to 1500hrs (x 24 marshals required):
The role of the School Chaperones is to meet and greet schools as they arrive and escort them around the event site to make sure everyone involved has an enjoyable day. You will be allocated 2 schools, one for the morning run session and one for the afternoon run session.

• Missing Persons – 0830hrs to 1500hrs (x 3 marshals required):
Must possess current CRB check. To assist the Missing Persons Manager at the Missing Persons Point and follow the procedure as necessary.

Looping the Loop – North West Cultural Olympiad

Looping the Loop will mark the start of Games Time in the Northwest and the final chapter of the four Year Taking place on 19th May 2012 @ Old Trafford Stadium, The Quays & Media City.
May 19th also marks the day when the Olympic torch relay begins its 60 day journey around the UK
The event will bring local / regional and international artists and organisations who will perform throughout the afternoon, culminating in a spectacle performance on the waterfront.
Volunteers Ambassadors will play a key role in the event, as they will guide and inform the general public about the route / offer support and enable the audience to enjoy the experience across the site.
The Volunteers / Ambassadors will be sited across the whole event at key locations, handing out programmes and talking to the public about what they can expect to see and take part in.
