We are looking for some enthusiastic volunteers to help give our runners a lift with some positive attitude and some refreshment at a 5k Family Community Fun Run in Alexandra Park.

At the end of the race you will take part in the sweep up, where we walk the last sections of the race to encourage any straggles to the finish and look our for any abandoned equipment.

The event will be an amazing day as it will be a celebration of the 4 week long ‘Olympic Summer’ programme so why not get involved!

This is the second year that we have provided volunteers for British Gymnastics, and offers a fantastic opportunity for volunteers from local clubs to help out at the event, gain some great experience and see the delivery of the event from the inside. There are a variety of roles on offer, ranging from accreditation, administration, marshalling and even filming the action as it takes place.

Whether it helps build skills and experience, or it’s a good way for you to develop your young people within the club, it’s a great opportunity to help out at a major event, the first of its kind to be held in Britain. We would love to hear from you if you are interested – lunch, refreshments and t-shirts will all be provided, and help is available for parking as well as parent / carer tickets. So, if you are 14 or over just let us know if your club and any of your members would like to volunteer, and we will be in touch.

We are currently looking to recruit a maximum of 25 volunteers per day , aged 14+, to work with us over the 4 days , supporting the event with regards to various roles, these will be rotated across all the roles, so a great experience for all volunteers.
