This is a role for anyone that’s passionate about sport, or simply helping local people to come together and be active. Join In creates national campaigns inspiring 100,000 people a year to volunteer in community sport, right across the UK. We couldn’t do this without Local Leaders, who help to recruit, manage, co-ordinate and inspire new and existing volunteers for local sports clubs, community festivals and mass-participation events. This role will work closely with your local branch of Intersport – they have 220 stores in towns and cities across the UK and share our passion for getting more people active and playing sport. They’re helping us do this by using their stores to support local clubs and events in finding new volunteers and recognising the amazing efforts of existing ones. You will work closely with Join In, your local Intersport store, local clubs and wider volunteering networks to co-ordinate the Join In campaign in your area and help community sport to grow and thrive. We’re looking for outgoing, sociable people to be volunteering in your local area (with a range of local partners we will put you in touch with) and with support from Join In (nationally). No previous experience is required, but ideally you will have a passion for sport, good IT skills and a natural flair for organisation. We are seeking volunteers aged 18+, ideally with access to the internet and their own transport. Full role descriptions and details of our expenses policy are available on request. There are no set hours for this role – it’s very flexible and will evolve depending on your availability, the Intersport store and the needs of local clubs. We will work with you to ensure your Local Leader role is able to fit around your other commitments. This role is available to anyone within the Greater Manchester area.
