A new Badminton opportunity has been added to Manchester VSB by Manchester Tennis Development, starts 24 June 2013

Wimbledon in Wythenshawe – is a promotional tennis event being delivered at Wythenshawe Civic Shopping Centre and is being delivered in partnership between St Modwens (Shopping Centre Management Agent) / Lawn Tennis Association and Manchester City Council.

The main purpose of the event is to raise the public awareness of tennis facilities, social, coaching and competitive tennis opportunities in the Wythenshawe area and also across the city.

The shopping centre are bringing in a large screen to show live coverage of the Wimbledon Championships for two weeks. A mini tennis court will be set-up and staffed with coaches on hand to allow members of the public to experience one of the adaptive versions of the game and at times we will be also showcasing Cardio Tennis (Aerobic work-out using tennis)

Volunteers are required to promote the tennis opportunities available. This will include encouraging people to have a hit on the mini tennis court and distributing information on the tennis offer available in Manchester. We require volunteers from 10.30am – 3pm.

Its not essential to attend all days and we would welcome any assistance you can provide us in raising the profile of tennis in Manchester
